Accused of gross indecency in a “homosexual vice ring case” that shook the nation’s
capital in the mid 1970s, then acquitted at his trial, the author transformed this
traumatic experience into a sexual liberation opportunity. The book could have been
called “How I became a gay activist”. It is presented as a personal diary, with many
documents such as a coming out letter to his parents. When writing this diary, the
author was an active member of Gays of Ottawa / Gais de l’Outaouais. There are many
references to activities of this advocacy group.
