Through twenty short stories, the author embarks us on a voyage in French Ontario, from 1760 to 1960, from Lake Erie to Lake Superior. A number of fictional or real characters pop up en route: missionary-politicians, dancing lumberjacks, gold mine prospectors, legendary Joe Montferrand, etc. Each text is accompanied by an illustration (drawings by Marc Bélanger) and by a short historical background note.
