This history textbook for schoolchildren in grades 7 to 10, describes two French-Canadian
villages in Kent County, in southwestern Ontario. The chapter on geography deals
with topography, climate, and demographics. The chapter on history speaks of the
pioneers in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, ending with an account of the current
cultural mosaic. The chapter on politics reviews the actors at the federal, provincial
and township levels. Other chapters deal with education and with the economic, social,
cultural, and religious life in Pain Court and Grande-Pointe.
