Historic novel based on the prohibition years in the Windsor-Detroit area (1916-1926).
Chapters alternate between daring exploits of fictional bootleggers and real political
imbroglios. Alcohol is delivered in many original ways: underground bars, padded
train cars, sinking boats, funeral hearses, and even “egg” cartons (reference to
the title: eggs on the rocks). Readers follow the steps of three French-Canadian
bootleggers, one of whom is quite eccentric.
